Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist

Dr Mirsadraee’s specialist interest is cardiovascular imaging and in particular imaging of the heart valves, surgical and transcatheter aortic and mitral valve procedure planning, and complex aortic conditions. He is the radiology lead for aortic and mitral imaging at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. Dr Mirsadraee uses CT images in planning mitral valve procedures such as minimal access mitral valve surgery, transcatheter mitral valve implantation (eg. Tendyne, Sapien in valve/ring/MAC), chord and left ventricular remodelling procedures (eg. AccuCinch, Neochord).

Dr Mirsadraee has trained many doctors with an interest in cardiovascular imaging. He supports undergraduate radiology training at Imperial College London and has set up many subspecialised courses including the Edinburgh Cardiac CT course and London TAVI CT course.

Dr Mirsadraee is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. His main area of interest is anatomical and functional cardiac and aortic imaging. His current research interests include the mitral valves and left ventricular remodelling following mitral valve interventions and the application of clinical imaging derived computational fluid modelling for the assessment of flow in the dissected and bioprosthetic aorta. Dr Mirsadraee has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and multiple book chapters in the field of cardiothoracic science and imaging.
